GoTet introduces an innovative gameplay experience that resembles Tetris, but with a significant twist. Instead of controlling tetrominoes, you control a square, moving it across the map in a competitive race against time and other players. The game spices up the action with spells to assist in completing your square pattern or even challenging your opponents.
GoTet offers two single-player modes: Classic and Modern, each with unique spells. In Classic mode, you aim to complete as many levels as possible in the shortest time. Modern mode provides an enhanced experience with an expanded range of spells. The multiplayer mode supports up to eight players on a 256×256 map, adding an exhilarating layer of competition.
In multiplayer mode, your goal is to survive as long as possible, earning points while advancing through levels. The game encourages diverse strategies, allowing players to adopt offensive or defensive tactics. With more players, the game’s excitement intensifies, offering endless entertainment.
Starting with an empty square, you must fill it before time runs out. Explore the map to find and glue tiles, growing your square and accumulating points to cast spells. The game also features secret chests for additional rewards. You can discard or steal tiles, adding a strategic element to the gameplay.
Control your square using WASD, arrow keys, or mouse movements. Glue tiles with space or left-click, and drop them with M or right-click. Spells include spin, magnet, shield, and more, each offering unique advantages. Mobile controls are intuitive, using taps and wheel commands for seamless gameplay.
The game’s creator welcomes player feedback and is open to implementing new ideas, like invisibility spells and dynamite tiles. Community support can lead to enhanced graphics and sound effects. Contributions to the game’s development are greatly appreciated, as the backend is currently hosted on AWS with limited resources.
